TELES, the Berlin based Next Generation Networks and Access Gateway vendor, has completed a major contract for Italian satellite and integrated solutions provider Archway for redundant softswitch architecture.
Thomas Grillmeier, Archway's CTO, was impressed with TELES flexibility in adapting to the increasingly complex situation: "First of all, we selected TELES because of the robustness and reliability of their products and also because they matched our technical and government requirements. Their solution bears the 'Made in Germany' hallmark and the installation was carried out without a hitch by their engineers. TELES also provided us with excellent support in terms of training and service and we were convinced by their product and time-to-production from the start." Regarding the time-schedule, Mr. Roger Barcroft, CEO, added: "Once we had learned of the regulatory and license factors, time became a major issue in determining the success of the project. We needed to be operational fast to meet the customer's requirements. Luckily for us, TELES demonstrated their flexibility and ability to respond to an unexpected scenario by ensuring that our tight deadlines were met on schedule."

The solution includes a fully redundant configured TELES Media Gateway Controller (MGC) carrier-grade Class 4 softswitch which can handle 10,000 concurrent calls, supports multiple protocols, advanced routing, proven interoperability, comprehensive system management capabilities, and also incorporates a fully-featured billing platform solution.
