Saturday October 3rd, Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation is coordinating the Lake Norman Big Sweep in order to clean-up debris from all the summer madness. The lakes are used in the summer, litter is discarded into the lake, and this litter causes pollution. Come and help in the efforts and support a great local organization. There are about 10 different locations around Lake Norman where you can contribute. All you have to do is meet, get on a boat that will be waiting for you, and go around and clean the lake. Following the clean-up, there will be a great after party at Queens Landing in Mooresville with food, live music, and Stand Up Paddle demos and a 3 mile race. To register for this event, please visit http://www.catawbariverkeeper.org/
For Stand Up Paddle Demos or to register for the 3 mile Stand Up Paddle Race, please contact Travis at 704-615-8409. You do not need a board to enter the race. Board and paddle rental is $20 and registration for the race is $20. All proceeds go to benefit the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation. This is a fun race for anyone, but there will be some competitive racing as well. Prizes will be given to the winners for each class, and we will have random prizes to give away to everyone who participates.
Come join us for cleaning up our lake and then a lot of fun at the after party!
