Celebrated worldwide, Diwali, also known as the Indian New Year, celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Numerous myths and stories are associated with Diwali. Many of these myths center around the defeat of evil demons as well as the exoneration and freedom of the wrongfully oppressed.
