AMSTERDAM -- Brick House Video, known for its compact and rugged production and post-production equipment, has received a 2009 STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award at the IBC convention for the Company’s design and fabrication of RouteCase, a briefcase sized new flyaway kit. STAR is awarded by the editorial staff of TV Technology Europe magazine.
The STAR Award is designed to celebrate and showcase the preëminent technological innovations available to the broadcast industry. TV Technology Europe's editor reviewed a variety of products, examined the technical applications and their overall contribution to the industry, and then chose 25 winners.
Built around Brick House Video’s broadcast specification Callisto Micro vision mixer, RouteCase was developed for SISLive – Europe in the UK. RouteCase is a true plug and play field unit that packs a powerful and affordable unit into a carry-on flight case with the capabilities to support the production needs of live event staging, sporting events, business seminars, presentations, and news-gathering. Measuring just 41cm x 32cm x 17cm (16.2” x 12.5” x 5.5”), RouteCase incorporates all the essential features necessary for live production, including a wireless camera link and quad-split monitoring. Extremely simple to set-up and operate, RouteCase also offers as an option the award-winning Let It Wave up-conversion for simultaneous HD output.
“STAR awards are given to interesting new products that help a user save money or accomplish a task in an easier way,” said Mark Hallinger, Editor of TV Technology Europe. “The products selected help advance the industry----some were chosen because of technical novelty or innovation, some because they filled an important gap in the production or transmission chain, and some because they were just cool products.”
“We are delighted to receive another TV Technology STAR award,” added Julian Hiorns, Managing Director of Brick House Video. “We are honored to be recognized for innovation by such a highly respected publication in the broadcasting industry.”
