Nashville, TN - Colt Records President J. K. Coltrain announced that OneDay40 was awarded The Album of The Year by The British Country Music Association.
Voted by a panel of music industry veterans, the award was presented to the founders of the band during the annual induction ceremony for the British Country Music Hall of Fame at Great Birchwood in England.
Songwriter/Producers Billy Matthews and John Naismith accepted the award on behalf of the band, with Billy saying "This is a real honour - if you look at the list of names who have won this before us then you can see we're in great company". John added "It's obviously not for our looks or our youth, but we did spend a lot of time getting the songs and production right on the album so we're really grateful for the recognition"
During the ceremony the band offered 100 free copies of their album to the assembled audience - an offer which caused a rush to the stage and a very long queue for autographs - organisers of the event later observing that they'd never seen a box of CDs empty so quickly.

The award was presented to OneDay40 by leading UK Country/Americana promoter Chris Jackson - who took the opportunity to immediately sign the band up for a performance at the 2010 Americana Festival, the largest celebration of Americana in the UK.
Billy commented "We're delighted to be back at Americana - it is without doubt the biggest gig in the festival schedule, and we can't wait to get our full 7-piece band onto that big stage".
OneDay40 are one of the very few Country/Americana bands from Scotland that have achieved overseas recognition. Founded in 2006, they rapidly built up a significant following in the U.S. and Canada via social networking techniques. They recorded their debut album in the famous, but now defunct, Park Lane Studios in Glasgow (home of Texas and others), and in early 2009 were signed to Colt Records of Nashville.
