The Trust wants to help festoon the Towns with colour next year and has ordered 1200 flowers from Aberdeenshire Council. These plants will be in addition to those supplied by Aberdeenshire Council's Landscape Services and the Community Council.
Operations and Development Manager Fiona Poustie explained: “The existing plants help to make Banff and Macduff more attractive places to live in and visit and we want to augment what is already done.”
The Trust are looking for volunteers to form an action group to take this project forward and look at areas where the additional flowers will have the most impact.
Fiona continued: “This project isn’t only about complimenting the existing efforts; it’s about community involvement and increasing local pride. Volunteering can be very rewarding and gives people the opportunity to make friends with neighbours they never knew. I can’t claim to be green-fingered myself and hope there are budding horticulturalists out there that are willing to help.”
