In putting together the design of the stage lighting for Maragon, Prosound drew on the services of Declan Randall of Congo Blue Design. Due to the fact that the stage area was fairly large, sound stage lighting principles were applied to ensure that the stage was evenly illuminated. Furthermore the lighting control area was located in a non-typical place which meant that a DMX control position had to be provided at the rear wall of the auditorium for ease of use. A Zero 88 Jester 24/48 Lighting Console was used together with the digital dimmers. The impressive fixtures used consisted of ETC Source 4 Profiles Source 4 Junior Zoom Profiles and 1000Watt Fresnel parcans. Together with Congo Blue Design, Prosound also provided training on the principles of lighting and also the initial focus of the system.
The audio system installed into the multipurpose venue consists of RCF Art322Ai series loudspeakers, Electro-Voice sub-bass loudspeakers, Crest amplification, Rane signal processing, Yamaha mixing console and Electro-Voice microphones. Within the venue the main hall has been fully equipped for speech, music and drama productions.
The installation of the video system consists of Sanyo video projectors, Kramer switching and Grand View screens. A smaller foyer area will be used for small-scale presentations, viewing of sporting events and smaller music events. Additionally, the canteen has a ceiling based distributed system that also gets a feed from the main control room. All in all, the sound and light installation is sure to create a few Hollywood stars on the stage and is an incredible venue for future rental use.
