What Employment Crisis? Axis Recruitment Opens Gold Coast & Brisbane Offices

Despite the continued Australian national employment figure slump, Axis Recruitment opens new offices on the Gold Coast and Brisbane to service demand

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Sep 22, 2009 – While many Australian recruitment agencies are feeling the economic pinch, a new QLD recruitment service has set up shop amidst conditions they claim are conducive to bold new enterprises.  Axis Recruitment opened their doors on July 1, 2009, with offices on the Gold Coast in Southport Central and another in Brisbane CBD, as well as online services via their new website, http://www.axisrecruitment.com.au

While Australian national employment figures remain bleak, Gold Coast-based Axis Recruitment co-founder Marc Vella claims businesses in south-east Queensland are still looking for staff, but are holding out to find the right people. This is where he insists Axis Recruitment can assist. Axis Recruitment has a niche focus in the accounting, office support, finance, health, and hospitality industries, which allows them to source specialists within these fields.

“Employers are now looking beyond just simply finding employees with the right list of skills. They are looking for people who are the right cultural fit for the business. They put a high value on the right attitude, and on finding people with something to really add to the business,” said Vella. “Because Axis Recruitment has in depth knowledge in the hospitality, health, finance and accounting industries, we can source the right candidates for really complex briefs, for example specialty sushi chefs with the right visas, language skills, and personality all rolled into one,” he said.

Vella also claims that hard times have meant businesses are more inclined to rethink their recruitment needs.  As Australia rides out of this economic downturn, many businesses are struggling to recruit directly as hiring mandates pick up and application levels remain high. Faced with rising workloads, many HR teams both in Australia and abroad are returning to recruitment agencies to meet their hiring needs, but a new trend is emerging – businesses are increasingly more inclined to seek specialist agencies like Axis Recruitment that offer competitive pricing and personalized service rather than use a larger recruitment agency.

Vella puts the Axis Recruitment difference down to three key features: recession-busting fees, mobile service, and a strong candidate and employee-orientated focus. “Our fees are geared to give our clients real value for money at a time when they need it most. Many QLD recruitment companies work off a percentage of 13% to 22%, whereas our fees are almost half that,” said Vella, noting that Axis Recruitment also offers premium services and a choice of packages to suit the employer’s needs and budget, which other agencies do not do.  Apart from pricing, Axis Recruitment also aims to add value to recruitment services in terms of speed and quality of responsiveness & experience.

Axis Recruitment draws on the wealth of expertise of co-founder Julia Pons, who oversees Brisbane operations. Julia has had strong international experience in accounting and professional fields, and had previously worked for several Australian recruitment agencies. Fellow Axis Recruitment co-founder Marc Vella, who looks after Gold Coast operations, has worked in every facet of the hospitality industry, including hotels, clubs, resorts and restaurants, and also has an active background with prominent recruitment agencies. Between them they have over thirty years of experience in hospitality, accounting, management and recruitment, and intend to put it all to use at Axis Recruitment.

“Our backgrounds within the industries we focus on and our time working within other recruitment agencies have helped us truly develop new and better ways of recruiting staff. Axis Recruitment aims to break the mould of how traditional recruitment is done,” said Vella.
