ScripNet Announces Contract with Texas State Office of Risk Management

ScripNet wins state contract renewal based on quality of service and cost containment measures.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 21, 2009 -
LAS VEGAS, NV –  ScripNet today announced that it finalized a contract with the State Office of Risk Management (SORM)  to provide pharmacy benefit management services (PBM) for the Texas Government Employees’ Workers’ Compensation Insurance Program, covering approximately 175,000 full-time equivalent state employees.  The contract has an initial term of four years.

ScripNet’s PBM service will include:  pharmacy claims processing for both retail and mail order delivery, formulary management, prospective, concurrent and retrospective drug utilization reviews, a generic substitution program, a first fill program, and universal helpdesk support.  ScripNet has a directly-contracted pharmacy network with 3,468 pharmacies in Texas and over 63,000 pharmacies nationwide, supported by a customizable Point of Sale (POS) system.

“We are pleased to continue providing pharmacy benefit management services to SORM on behalf of Texas Government Employees,” said Dennis M. Sponer, President and CEO of ScripNet.  “We have had a long and successful relationship with SORM over the past nine years, based on our quality of customer service and medical cost containment initiatives.   Extending that relationship into the future is a testament to how well we work together.    We will continue to demonstrate to SORM that ScripNet provides the best care through clinical programs, technology infrastructure and personalized service.”

“SORM utilized a comprehensive competitive bid process to select ScripNet as its vendor,” said, Jonathan Bow, Executive Director of SORM. “The formal RFP process helped SORM select the vendor that was capable of providing the highest quality services at competitive prices, with improved outcomes consistent with SORM’s business requirements.”

ScripNet was one of the earliest vendors to provide support for and compliance with the Texas Department of Insurance mandate that workers’ compensation carriers accept eBilling from health care providers.  In addition to SORM, ScripNet provides PBM services some of the largest workers’ compensation payors in Texas.
