Divas Dancing For Divas - Special Event

PR Log (Press Release) – Sep 21, 2009 – How would you like to be a “chair” person for a great cause?  If you like music and have a passion to help others, then join the inaugural event,  “Divas Dancing for Divas” on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Harrah’s Casino Grand Ballroom in Kansas City from Noon – 4 p.m.

“Divas Dancing for Divas” is a large group chair dancing extravaganza.  Event participants pay just $20.00 to become a part of one of the largest chair dancing events in town!  Much like runners who pay to enter a race, participants, or “Divas,” have the opportunity to raise money for a good cause while having a great time as part of a group chair dancing event.  Register now at www.divasdancingfordivas.com  and get the best seat in the house!

Fimb Wellness Center (www.fimbwellness.com) is excited to introduce this inspiring celebration to the Kansas City area.  This event supports the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, whose mission is “to grant wishes, including memory-making events, for metastatic breast cancer patients, while continuing to support, educate, and increase resource awareness.”

It is all in good fun and quite simple to do.  According to Carla Mock, owner of Fimb Wellness Center in Lee’s Summit, MO, “No experience is necessary.  We will be teaching a very simple dance on the day of the event, and then everyone will do it together one time through.”

The goal of the event is to encourage women to give back to other women, not simply through a monetary donation, but through their collective energy and spirit.

“We want women to feel like Divas for a day, no matter their age, size, fitness level, or health status,” said Mock.

Each $20.00 event entry fee qualifies each “Diva” for a “Divas Dancing for Divas” t-shirt and the opportunity of a lifetime to participate in a large group chair dancing experience. Photographers will be on hand to capture the memories for all involved.

Individuals can become a team leader by recruiting at least 20 women to be on a team.  Each team leader will then receive the “pink carpet” treatment, arriving in style by limo on the day of the event.

Doors open at Noon followed by an inspirational guest speaker at 1 p.m.  The Chair Dancing portion commences at 1:30 p.m. and will last until 2 p.m.  From 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., vendor booths and demonstrations will be on hand.
