Film Exec. To Teach Film Marketing Seminar in Lexington, KY on October 6th

This class is an opportunity for all filmmaking enthusiasts to learn how to create internet buzz and word of mouth for their films without spending any money on advertising. The workshop will help increase DVD sales, awareness of a film and drive traffic to a website.

The four hour film distribution and marketing seminar will include important information that all filmmakers, producers, writers, and directors should know about internet research. This includes how one can perform keyword research in order to find websites that can promote a film. The class will also teach the top four social media and social networking websites that will generate awareness of a DVD while creating traffic to a site. Filmmakers will also learn how to optimize their own websites so that they can be found in Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engine sites. Finally, Allen Chou will teach on-line publicity. All of these methods are key when trying to advertise and sell a DVD in this film distribution class.

The average internet marketing consultants can charge anywhere from $500 to $1000 for consultant fees and internet marketing companies charge $3,000 to $10,000 for a three month campaign. Instead of paying thousands of dollars for consultants and companies, anyone creating, producing, marketing or distributing a film can now learn how to do it themselves and pay nothing. Filmmakers can now increase DVD sales and awareness of their film and website for free through this workshop.

Allen Chou is President of Sales and Acquisitions at Passion River Films, a NJ based company that distributes over 300 documentaries. Many of his titles have landed retail shelf space in stores such as: Walmart, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster Video, Hollywood Video, Movie Gallery, Best Buy, and many more. In 2005, Allen established a distribution partnership with Netflix, resulting in the release of over 180 titles on their site; as well as other retail outlets. Internationally, he has attended Film and TV markets such as the American Film Market in Santa Monica, CA and Cannes Film Market in Cannes, France, where he marketed and licensed films and documentaries worldwide to broadcasters and foreign home video distributors. Allen Chou has recently taught a seminar class at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NY on film distribution that attracted clients from New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.
