"Hard Times University has had a great start in Detroit. We are working to build a community that will truly help the technical professionals in our area to not only improve their knowledge and skills, but also their job performance."
Why HTU? In these hard economic times, businesses now more than ever, have a huge need for applied practical training that can immediately be put to use. This same training must help individuals get back to work or improve their current skill set and career prospects. Current training often costs too much and as a result, stands as a barrier for growth for those professionals or companies that are hard pressed economically. In addition, professionals who are jobless often do not have money to take advantage of training opportunities that could improve their job outlook. Traditional business training models are often prohibitively expensive for those seeking new skills. Knowledge has become a commodity and our goal is to drive down the cost for all in acquiring current practical knowledge.
HTU is a community driven organization. HTU is rolling out a chapter in Seattle so that a local highly collaborative community can be seeded around practical skill development. HTU is community driven by it's members who are professionals that hold each other accountable for bringing their best forward and challenging each other to improve in useful ways. People become better by learning to enable each other. Learning is done best for professionals in a collaborative environment. Therefore, training Costs = Energy + Money.
We are excited to roll out HTU Seattle by delivering local current training to Seattle and surrounding area. Our first training agile project management space and is focused on enabling smarter more rapid delivery of results.
