Local family business Bayford & Co. Ltd has donated £5,200 towards tree planting with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. The oil company’s Plant a Tree Scheme offers customers the chance to help the environment by donating £1 or more with their order towards a tree to be planted in the Bayford Woods, near Harrogate.
Bayford’s donation paid for one hectare of trees, which will be planted by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. YDMT director David Sharrod said, “These trees will be benefiting the environment and wildlife of the Dales for years to come, thanks to the generosity of Bayford and their customers.”
Since Bayford launched its Plant a Tree scheme, 1,000 trees have been planted in the Bayford Woods, including oak, ash, rowan and hazel trees.
Bayford’s Marketing Manager Adam Walsh said, “We would like to thank all our customers who have contributed to the scheme so far. When you work in the oil and property sectors like we do you can’t afford to ignore the impact the way you work has on the environment. The good news is that it does give us the opportunity to make meaningful changes and by working with our customers in this way, we are helping to do just that..”
