"Celebration of Freedom" enjoyed a soft opening on Sept.11 during a live benefit concert held at the Potter's House featuring performers Ozara Ode, Quineice Clarkson, Gary Young and Colie Williams. Contributors to the book anthology Liberated Muse Volume I: How I Freed My Soul also made appearances and signed copies of the book with the book's editor Khadijah Ali-Coleman who hosted the event. The event raised funds for the artist collective The Saartjie Project (www.thesaartjieproject.org) which performs nationally and facilitates healing workshops for young girls.

The artist reception for visual artists featured in "Celebration of Freedom" will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 4pm at the Potter's House. Light refreshments will be served and copies of the book Liberated Muse Volume I: How I Freed My Soul will be available for purchase. Call 240-413-1130 for more information.
