During the Montana Association Conference in Whitefish last week, Jerry Ford was recognized as the REALTOR® of the Year from the Missoula Organization of REALTORS® for his many years of service and commitment to the profession. Often these recognitions include a litany of what that looked like, i.e., the years and positions held. Just like in a history lesson, behind all those names and numbers is the real story ... the story that we honor in Missoula.
It is the story of hours and hours buried in the numbers of budgets both for the Montana Association and MOR. Jerry has gone well beyond what is required in those positions to provide the best analysis and recommendations possible. He hasn't always prevailed, but he is always willing to set forth his position and bring the discussion to the table, sometimes a discussion that others are reluctant to have. When those discussions are over, Jerry maintains the relationships, knowing the value that they bring well beyond the current issue. It is the story of working with MOR for several years to find an office location that would fit our needs as the industry was changing and using his skill as a commercial broker for the benefit of the association, donating his time in the interests of the collective good.
All of us who have worked with Jerry have our own stories. If you have one, call Jerry and share it along with your congratulations and thanks. We are all better for having his leadership and example.
