Silly Bus infuses educational lyrics into contemporary music and video to help Preschool and Elementary age children learn the standards of learning and the importance of physical fitness and energy conservation.  In a time where children are expected to learn more substantive information at a younger age, the need for innovative, effective teaching tools has never been so important.  Realizing this need, Silly Bus has created educational multi-media to help parents and teachers keep their children and students ahead of the curve.

Silly Bus’ approach is simple, yet effective. First, Silly Bus captures and sustains the attention of young children through catchy melodic lines and infectious rhythms.  Second, Silly Bus incorporates educational lyrics that, like with any pop song, become lodged in its listener’s brain.  As a consequence, recess is turned into class time and class time is turned into recess as children begin to associate the substantive material they are learning with the fun experience of listening to Silly Bus’ music.

As noted by John Henneberger of Silly Bus, “The current marketplace offers multiple performing groups and shows for children that often focus on the ‘fun’ factor with less attention placed on educational value.  Silly Bus focuses intensely on both.”

Silly Bus’ efforts to combine fun with education have resulted in the creation of media that kids love, parents enjoy and educators are raving about.

Dr. John Lewis II, Ed.D. University of Southern California writes, “Educators and Instructional Designers have long known the predictive influence that interest and motivation have on learning outcomes.  And music can create interest in a subject if it connects with the musical tastes of today's children.  Finally, an educational sing-a-long for children and their parents!”

“Whenever my teacher says ‘I’m going to put on Silly Bus everybody cheers.  We all love it!  Silly Bus Rocks!” – 1st Grade Student Henrico County, VA

To deliver its beneficial products, performances and messages, Silly Bus partners with schools, children’s venues, broadcast media, and organizations across Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.  Recent Silly Bus appearances include the Children’s Museum, Richmond Marathon Kids’ Run, Tree Top Kids, The Goddard School, Colonial Trail Elementary School, Feed the Kids Benefit and The Central Virginia Kids’ Expo.

Silly Bus formed in 2004 to address gaps in children’s educational media.  The Silly Bus team members are experienced professionals who have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including MTV and Discovery Kids.  Educational partners bring 30+ years of teaching and education expertise with five nationally published music education books.

In 2007 Silly Bus reached fifty thousand children through radio, TV, live shows and the Internet.  They are already on track to triple that number in 2008 through their rapidly expanding music distribution network, broadcasts, live shows and strategic partnerships with leading national children’s product manufacturers, retailers and entertainment companies.
