The company, which is located at Bowcliffe Hall in Bramham, was approached by one of Toby’s family members, who is a friend of one of Bayford’s CEOs, to lend its support to the endeavour.
The company was happy to help, and through its well-known Gulf Petrol sites is providing fuel for Toby’s support car.
The epic trip of almost 1,000 miles aims to raise funds for Help for Heroes, a charity supporting wounded British servicemen and women.
Toby, who is from Hampsthwaite near Harrogate, set off from Lands End on August 31 and the trip was expected to take around nine days to complete. He hopes to join the Parachute Regiment after going to University.
Toby said: “I think it is a really good charity and many of the people who get injured in Afghanistan and Iraq, both mentally and physically, have little job opportunities without help from the charity so they are providing a lifeline to those who are injured.
Bayford’s marketing manager Adam Walsh said: “As a local family company, we are always looking for ways to support our community and get involved with worthwhile causes.
“Toby has trained hard for this event and we are delighted to be able to support him. We wish Toby the best of luck in his challenge.”
Toby is a pupil at Eton college and is starting upper sixth form this academic year. Anyone wishing to sponsor Toby should visit www.justgiving.com/
