Here’s a look at a few of the games we’ve circled for this Sunday.

NFL Picks

The first week of the season provided a few upsets and a couple of crazy finishes. Very few people saw the Bills competing against the Patriots or the Raiders nearly beating the Chargers. The Jets and 49ers surprised a few folks with their upset road wins and the Eagles and Saints looked great in their first games. The second week presents another set of tough matchups and Bet Republic has made its picks.

HOUSTON AT TENNESSEE
Line: Titans -6.5
Over/Under: 40.5
Houston came out flat against an aggressive Jets team losing at home 24-7. The offense had only 183 total yards. Tennessee lost in OT to the Steelers and has had 10 days to get ready for the Texans. The Titans are a physical team on both sides of the ball that can provide mismatches against Houston. They will pound the ball on the ground opening up the passing game for QB Collins. Tennessee is 7-1 SU in its last eight games vs. Houston and off a narrow loss to Pittsburgh we look for the Titans to even up their record.
Betrepublic's Pick: Take the Titans

SEATTLE AT SAN FRANCISCO
Line: 49ers -1.5
Over/Under: 39.5
San Francisco had an impressive road win against the Cards while the Seahawks held serve, winning their home opener against the Rams. One of these two could supplant the Cards as the division winner so this is a big game. The Hawks have historically had trouble traveling early in the season and though this trip down the coast should make for an easy commute we like what HC Singletary has done with his team’s defense. Seattle could be missing two starting linebackers, with LeRoy Hill out and Lofa Tatupu questionable (Check status) and if so, Niners RB Frank Gore is poised for a field day.
Pick: Take the 49ers

CLEVELAND AT DENVER
Line: Broncos -3
Over/Under: 38.5
It’s the “I’ll B-BACk” Bowl, with two former Bill Belichick Assistant Coordinators (B-BAC) squaring off. Both teams left Game 1 with a ton of questions unanswered. The Broncos squeaked out a bizarre win against the Bengals and the Browns played uneven ball against the Vikings. Brady Quinn was up and down last week and needs to put in a good performance or Derek Anderson will see some time. The Broncos defense gave up small chunks of yardage to the Bengals but shut them down for the most part. Denver appears to have swept some of its chemistry concerns under the mat and at home, we’re cautiously backing them to handle one of the few opponents Denver beats in a QB matchup.
Pick: Take the Broncos

PITTSBURGH AT CHICAGO
Line: Steelers -3
Over/Under: 37.5
Cutler controversy has already taken hold in Chicago after his four-pick night against the Packers in a 21-15 loss. The bigger loss might have been Brian Urlacher (wrist) for the season. The Steelers are playing off 10 days rest but are also down a key cog in Troy Polamalu so it’s up to the remaining players on each defensive unit to raise their game. This is Chicago’s home opener and it’s a big one. The Bears are 2-14-1 O/U vs. AFC opponents and this game between two teams trying to prove a point should be a slugfest.
Pick: Play the "Under"
