By: Michael Millbank Here is an excerpt from the new Begginer Snowboard Tips information webpage: "The best thing for you to know is to always practice safety. Make sure you always wear a helmet or any other protective gear that is available. Never assume that it will be ok. A snowboard can gain speeds that can be dangerous and if you lose control of your snowboard, bad things are bound to happen. Remember, safety comes first, always. Another piece of advice is to ensure that your feet are secure on the board. Make sure to check and double check your bindings. You do not want them to come loose during one of your runs. Also with the bindings, only secure one foot in (your lead foot) while in transition. This will enable you to “walk” to the ski lift or whatever the case may be. You then can strap your other foot in before you are ready to take off on the run. Now, get your stance down. Determine which foot should be your lead and which one should be your back foot. Having the stronger of the two in the proper position will help your control when it comes to maneuverability of the snowboard."
