Retro Systems HORNET ”H” series machines include a Hypertherm® PC based CNC control, heavy-wall steel tubing machine frame and gantry beam, precision ground linear ways on both the X & Y axis, powerful AC servo motors and low back-lash planetary gear boxes. Both the gantry beam and cross axis carriage ride on precision ground linear ways to deliver premium motion control and accuracy.
MACHINE SIZES – HORNET HS (single side drive) models are available 5 ft and 6.5 ft wide (1.5m & 2.0m). HORNET HD (dual side drive) models are available 5 ft, 6.5 ft and 8 ft wide (1.5m, 2.0m & 2.5m). Both models are available in either 12 ft or 20 ft cutting lengths (3.7m & 6.1m).
HEAVY DUTY FRAME DESIGN - “H” Series gantry beams and rail support assemblies are fabricated from heavy wall steel tubing, stress relieved and then machined to ensure precise alignment of the precision linear ways and gear rack.
CUTTING TABLES – AIR OR WATER – Cutting tables for the “H” Series are independent from the machine frame to ensure the rail system is unaffected by the cutting table movement or damaged by the heat of cutting processes.
PLASMA & OXY-FUEL CUTTING & PLATE MARKING - Select a maximum of (2) tools for the cross axis carriage.- (1) plasma, (1) oxyfuel or (1) air scribe marker.
POWERFUL AC SERVO DRIVE SYSTEM - HORNET “H” series machines use 600 watt AC servos for all axes; even the plasma torch height control lifter uses a 600 watt AC servo.
FULL FEATURED PLASMA TORCH HEIGHT CONTROL – The RSVS-150 utilizes the Hypertherm SENSOR software and electronics integrated into the MicroEDGE CNC control for full featured performance. Ball screw drive design with linear bearings ensures smooth, accurate motion control and premium plasma performance.
HYPERTHERM® AUTOMATION CNC CONTROL – The Hypertherm MicroEDGE™ CNC control and Phoenix™ motion control software with embedded plasma process control cut charts ensure the correct process parameters are used and make training the machine operator is fast and easy.
CNC FILE CREATION AND LOADING FILES – The MicroEDGE control includes a DXF to machine code converter. Files may be loaded via the floppy drive, USB or network ports. The control also includes NESTER for automatic row and column nesting of programmed parts.
