Aundrea Gregg, a junior at Howard University, will receive the Emerging Leader Award at this year’s gala, for her academic excellence and dedication to the community.
A Political Science and Classical Civilizations double major, Gregg has maintained over a 3.5. GPA and been on the Dean’s List every semester at Howard University. She is the president of the Eta Sigma Phi Classics national honor society, and she also serves as president of the Talented Tenth chapter at Howard, for which Ms. Gregg is currently working to raise money for a $10,000 scholarship for an incoming freshman at her school.
In addition to her school commitments, Gregg is fervently involved in the community and is an active member of the National Council of Negro Women, Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, and the Georgia State Club. Last summer, Gregg completed an internship at the Department of Commerce, where she worked in the Scheduling and Advance office in the Office of the Secretary.
After graduation, Gregg hopes to attend the London School of Economics. She ultimately plans to work as a foreign trade officer for the Foreign Service.

The 2nd Annual Congressional Black Caucus Minority Business Reception and Awards Gala will be held on Friday, September 25, 2008 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 900 10th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. and the awards program starts at 7:30 p.m.
