Appel Farm Arts and Music Center is pleased to announce the first three First Fridays@theGallery concerts for the 2009-10 season. Friday, October 2 marks the debut performance at Appel Farm of Brian LaPann and Ryan “Gooch” Nelson of 61North renown. The Spinning Leaves will arrive on Friday, November 6 and southern New Jersey native Bevin Caulfield plays the intimate venue on Friday, December 4. The 50-seat Art Gallery hosts the performances on selected first Fridays throughout the year. Auburn Road Vineyard, one of southern New Jersey’s premiere wineries, will serve their classic wines to patrons 21 and over free of charge, and has been recently named the official wine sponsor of First Fridays@theGallery. Audiences are also invited to bring their own beverage of choice to the performances.
61 North recently opened for Robert Randolph in a blockbuster concert in Camden, and is rapidly making its mark throughout the region. Founding member Brian LaPann’s vocals and “Gooch” Nelson’s slide guitar are a potent combination and showcase their great chemistry and singular talent.
The Spinning Leaves, formed in 2006, are known for their haunting melodies and angelic vocals. Their first album, LOVE!, features songs Promontory Wind and Transistor Radio. Members Michael Baker and Barbara Gettes infuse performances with their passion for changing the world, one song at a time.
