The estate tours are for all ages and take place throughout the year in all weather conditions, usually sunny but nothing should stop you eating chocolate.
Start the tour from Horizon Yacht Charters base at True Blue and stop to marvel at the lush rain forest at Grand Etang National Park 1,900ft up. Another 30 minutes brings you to the 17th century plantation of Belmont Estate where organic cocoa continues to be grown, harvested and processed in time honored fashion. The tour will take you through cocoa processing including ‘cocoa walking’ and inside the cocoa fermentation plant where demonstrations and delicious chocolate tastings are held. The tour continues around the estate and includes Grenada’s only goat dairy, goat cheese tasting, a craft market and workshop and a visit to the heritage museum. Belmont Estate’s delicious Creole restaurant offers an authentic Grenadian lunch made from local ingredients mostly grown on the estate.
