Petra Azar, noted artist, sculptor and jewelry designer turned her world around when, following her mother’s death from breast cancer, she too was diagnosed with this dreaded disease. It was a life altering experience for Petra and she decided to use her sculpting talent to design an amulet that would symbolize a woman’s own inner strength, as well as …’the power of Love and Unity’, women need to feel when struck with this disease.
In her search to create a deeply meaningful talisman, this creative, unconventional artist came to design one of this century’s most innovative pieces of jewelry.
Inspired by the story of the famous sisters, Susan G. Komen and Nancy Brinker, who created the world’s largest organization to fund breast cancer research & prevention, Studio Petra Azar recently joined forces with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and designed a special ‘pink collection’ named ‘The United Heart for the Cause' to raise funds for the Komen Foundation.
This charismatic collection is the perfect metaphor to reflect the love and sisterhood that bonds all women. The insertion of magnetic forces becomes synonymous with Petra’s and Nancy’s desire to remind each and every woman that together we can create a world
without breast cancer. Simultaneously the patented, magnetic closing mechanism happens to be a smart and practical invention, as it eliminates any and all conventional clasps while symbolizing the universal attraction among all humankind.
As an added bonus, the pendants (as seen in photo) utilize a beautiful Sterling Silver chain
that can be adjusted from a long single chain to become a shorter double chain.
