Sept. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- Get behind Lady Justice as she leads the way to celebrate with The Pro Bono Project at its 21st Annual Justice For All Ball (JFAB), which is scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2009 at Gallier Hall from 8:00 pm until midnight.

The 21st anniversary promises to be a real blowout celebration with the Joe Krown Band rocking Gallier Hall for patrons to dance their feet off from 9 pm until midnight; patrons will be welcomed by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Charter Middle School Marching Band.

A donor Patron Party kicks-off the evening at 6:30 pm with food provided by Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, followed by an evening filled with local music favorites, delectable treats from more than 20 of the metro area’s top restaurants.

Andrea’s Restaurant and Catering is handling the logistical details for food and beverage on behalf of The Project.   LexisNexis along with law firms Adams & Reese, Jones Walker and Baker Donleson have stepped up as corporate sponsors this year.

Bob Brown, Managing Director of the Business Council of New Orleans serves as the Honorary Chairman for this year’s 21st Anniversary JFAB.

So far 60+ area businesses have contributed to the raffle packages.  Enjoy gift certificates for dinners, hotel nights, cooking classes, memberships and a host of other gifts, all valued at a minimum of $100 per raffle item.  Ball goers can purchase a chance for a mere $5 a ticket.

There will also be a special Art, Travel & Culture silent auction. This year’s auction features the original art by this year’s invitation artist, Martha Allen, a native New Orleanian currently living and working in New York.  One lucky person or group will have the opportunity to bid on a one-week yachting excursion in either the Mediterranean or the Caribbean on the privately owned Oceana, which sleeps six.  These along with many other items will tempt Ball-goers to part with their hard-earned dollars for the cause of justice for all.

“There are still many opportunities for law firms, businesses and individuals to support The Project’s mission of providing pro bono civil legal service to those in need and help us to continue restoring lives and rebuilding this community.  There are many different sponsorship levels, which all include tickets to the Ball and Patron Party, as well as other VIP and marketing amenities.   Whether it’s for employee incentives or as a special treat for customers or clients, The JFAB is one of the premier events of the Fall social season and provides a great setting to reward employees or thank customers and clients for their business.  Of course, individual tickets are also available in advance or at the door,” says JFAB Committee Chair, Katie Lasky of Swanson, Huddell and Garrison LLC.

The Pro Bono Project’s continuing mission to provide free, quality civil legal services to the poor is more important than ever.  By engaging volunteer attorneys to render pro bono services, The Pro Bono Project serves clients in Orleans, Jefferson, St Bernard, St Tammany, Plaquemines and Washington parishes.  With funding from the Justice For All Ball and other sources, locally and nationally, The Pro Bono Project works in collaboration with other social service providers to improve the quality of life for our clients and our community.
