20 April 2009 saw the start of an eight week intensive training course for a brand new sales team for Novo Nordisk. Of course, that’s not when the work started! We were briefed by Novo Nordisk to find a good hotel, within 20 miles from their UK head office in Crawley six months previously. The venue had to tick a lot of boxes; good size, comfortable bedrooms, a large main meeting room with lots of natural daylight, plenty of syndicate rooms and leisure facilities.
The Felbridge Hotel and Spa in East Grinstead ticked all of the boxes – and more. Once we had established the right availability – then the negotiations started!
Due to the complexity of the residential event – we provided an Event Manager on-site for the duration of the event – to oversee all the arrangements, including the weekly entertainment. On the Wednesday night each week – to give the delegates some light relief, something outside of the hotel was organised. We had a curry night at a local curry house, a movie night complete with pop-corn and candy floss, a rounders tournament and a 1920’s themed Murder Mystery Night – with all the delegates dressing up!. The final Gala Dinner evening was a James Bond themed evening, complete with a casino.
Delegates went home during the weekends, and we managed the travel arrangements, booking flights and train travel. Those living close enough were able to drive home.
It was an extremely successful event – largely due to the superb team at the Felbridge. General Manager Stuart Noble said “it was a pleasure to have Novo Nordisk here – with the excellent support from The Conference People, we all worked together to make sure this training course surpassed expectations”
Robert Enefer, TCP Managing Director added “this has been a really exciting project to be involved with and we’re looking forward to working with the new team!”
Steve Vickers – Sales Training Manager, Novo Nordisk had nothing but praise for both the Felbridge hotel and staff, and the team at The Conference People saying “a big thank you to you and your team Robert, this is something we could not have managed without you”.
