Manga Chat is available as a free real-time online chatting service, where users can chat with manga characters and create original manga while chatting. Users can select from the default characters created by professional manga artists in Japan, or upload their own creations to use as characters in chat rooms. The service also now offers connectivity with Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.
“I see manga as a cultural bridge between Japan and the rest of the world and Manga Chat is meant to help bring those worlds closer together,” states Samurai Factory President Yusuke Shinoda (32). “With feedback we received from users at the Anime Expo, we updated our entire service to make it easier to use and connect with friends and other users with similar interests.”
Shinoda will be in attendance to interact with attendees firsthand. “There are significant differences in the ways Japanese and American people experience manga and anime, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet and talk with as many people as possible.”
Samurai Factory will be presenting Manga Chat at the New York Anime Festival from September 25 to 27, where attendees will have the opportunity to experience the service on site.
