Lawrence, Kansas – PuckettBrowne Publishing sponsors a contest about God’s intervention in tough times. Submissions can’t exceed 150 words. The contest winner will take home $20.00.Two runners-up win awards of $5.00.
Writers’ entries come from subscribers to the free PuckettBrowne Newsletter, although contestants may easily unsubscribe after the contest. Interested writers may go to http://makerstouch.typepad.com to subscribe.
Contest rules appear in the September newsletter, forwarded to readers until September 30. The entry deadline for the contest is October 15, 2009. Constant Contact hosts the newsletter. Their system allows readers to unsubscribe with the touch of a button.
Pat says, “How well writers follow the contest rules will weigh on story acceptance. And these true stories must be fanatically factual. For example, though the first book carries a story of a man who died for three minutes because of a drug overdose, no one rises from a coffin.” Pat chooses stories and compiles the anthologies.
The three winning stories will run in the Christian anthology, One Touch from the Maker, Second Edition, scheduled for publication in 2010.
Every newsletter carries accepted stories from the 2008 One Touch from the Maker. Writers may learn what Pat wants by reading them. The newsletter readers choose the winners.
Book-worthy articles by nonwinners may also be included in the book, depending on need. These stories go between longer stories when those stories don’t fill the space. Pat runs stories between her stories. The categories of stories include salvation, healing, provision, and surviving when you think you can’t, to list a few.
