There are two types of diabetes, type 1 which mainly afflicts teenagers and the younger generation and type 2 which afflicts the older generation and while there is no known cause for diabetes, there are some predispositions to the disease.
1. Being overweight or obese
2. Having a family member with the disease
3. Being African American or Hispanic
“I had spent a lot of time fighting the disease in myself that I forgot how much at risk my son was, when he turned 9 a few weeks back, he was tipping the scale at 120 pounds and that was the last straw and I had to do something dramatic since he has all the risk factors." said Mr. Ronald Gregory Mutimba
To mitigate the risks of his son getting the disease, he decided use diabetes to fight diabetes by using the diabetic guides on food and exercise to reduce his weight and increase the activity Levels and doing regular pre screening in the hope that he will stave off the disease.
He is writing the ups and downs of this journey on his blog at http://www.diabetic-
