Respected Public Relations Executive Charles Jones Launches New PR Firm

Sept. 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Accomplished public relations executive Charles Jones has formed CJones & Associates (“CJ&A PR”), an emerging public relations firm concentrating on local and national publicity; professional services and legal marketing; crisis and issues communications; community and multicultural relations; online and social media; and interview and presentation training. CJ&A PR serves a diverse group of industries including legal, accounting, banking, real estate, nonprofit, healthcare, international trade, retail, entertainment, political, government, and energy.

Jones himself gained prominence while handling media relations for celebrity Anna Nicole Smith’s funeral and other newsworthy issues that captured national attention.

Before opening his own firm, Jones was Vice President of Client Services for Wragg & Casas Public Relations, where his professional accomplishments included publicizing the national expansion of Florida’s largest corporate law firm; managing media relations for the Chinese drywall litigation; and creating events to heighten awareness for one of the nation’s largest retail banks.

Among his numerous honors, Jones received the Black Alumnus of the Year Award from the University of South Carolina; named “Trendsetter in Public Relations & Marketing” by Florida Trend magazine; “Up & Comer in Public Relations” by the South Florida Business Journal; and a Gold Medal Award Winner by Miami Today.

Jones is on the board of directors for South Florida After-School All-Stars and the HIV Education and Law Project, Inc. He was recently President-elect of the Brickell Area Association.

A former journalist, Jones was a news reporter for WFTV-TV in Orlando, Fla., WNCT-TV Greenville, N.C. and WOLO-TV in Columbia, S.C. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina in 1991.
