San Diego – The Downtown Education Task Force is hosting a Downtown Education Forum to explore solutions, both programmatic and architectural, for creating quality educational opportunities in an urban environment.

Keynote speakers include Council of Great City Schools Executive Director Mike Casserly and San Diego Unified School District Deputy Superintendent Chuck Morris. “The San Diego Downtown Community Plan identifies goals for increasing quality educational opportunities for students in an urban environment,”
The event is being sponsored by CCDC and the Downtown San Diego Partnership in collaboration with San Diego Unified School District and the California Charter Schools Association.
The Downtown Education Task Force was established in May 2007 by a joint effort of downtown stakeholders including parents, schools and business groups. The mission of the Task Force is to identify, analyze, expand, improve and promote educational opportunities in the downtown region for all citizens.
“The Task Force has made significant strides to build partnerships among business and educational leaders, residents and cultural institutions,”
Regular public monthly meetings are held at CCDC’s Board Room. Additional information, agendas and background information is available on www.ccdc.com. To register for the Forum e-mail events@ccdc.com.
