Uncorked Ventures has signed a lease agreement for warehouse space at 812 South Railroad Ave San Mateo, CA 94401. Over the next few weeks Uncorked Ventures plans to renovate the space to adequately insulate and air condition up to 1,200 bottles of fine wine meant for either their domestic wine clubs or their international export customers.
In a time of flattening fine wine sales it is both commendable and encouraging that a new company would be moving so aggressively to take space and begin stocking it with fine wine. With wine clubs shipments slated to begin in October or November of this year, pending licenses from the federal government and the state of California as well as international exports starting some time in 2010 this is an exciting time for the local wine industry in San Mateo.
Over the next few weeks Uncorked Ventures plans to begin formally announcing their current winery partnership agreements, including wineries from Paso Robles to Washington.
Aiming to be the only wine clubfocused on small boutique wineries and therefore wine that even the wine connoisseur cannot find at their local fine wine store, Uncorked Ventures promises to be a company to watch in northern California.
