Sept. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Budget problems, school layoffs, mortgage crisis, unemployment!  Stress levels at home and school are at an all-time high and our most important relationships are suffering. This presents a need and opportunity for us to gather in community, set our intention to create healthy and peaceful environments in our homes and schools, and support parents and teachers.

This conference is for you, parents and educators, families, and schools - to support and empower all those engaged in raising and educating the youth of today.

Breakout session topics are of interest to educators and teachers, parents of children from toddlers to teens, couples, single parents, grandparents, foster parents, and families of all types.  Attendees will find workshops in English, Japanese and Spanish, and workshop topics on a wide variety of topics including health, self-care, discipline, communication, consequences, and building family and classroom connection.

Attendees will be inspired by morning keynote speaker, Pam Dunn, author, speaker, and emerging leader within the human potential movement, and touched by afternoon keynote speaker Chris Brickler, the director of the Emmy-nominated documentary on love and relationships, “How Will We Love?“

In addition to these two nationally regarded, entertaining and informative keynote speakers, there will be a wide variety of educational panel breakout sessions.  The day features a new "Author Alley" with book signings by local artists and creators, live music, a Vendor Resource Mart, and plenty of time for visiting and networking.  The Vendor Resource Mart is open to the public at no charge from 10AM to 3PM.  Live music is provided by Remba Kids.

It Takes A Village was created by husband and wife team, Heather Lampron, Certified Parent Educator, and Joe O'Quinn, M. Ed., teacher and parent educator, Founders of Family Journeys Educational Institute in San Diego, along with beloved author, speaker, and parent educator, Susie Walton, owner of Indigo Village.  Workshops are conducted by a variety of San Diego experts including a pediatrician, school psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, teachers, and certified parent educators.

About ITAV: The ITAV Conference is the vision of parent educators Heather Lampron, Joe O'Quinn and Susie Walton who united together to create this annual educational program in support of San Diego's parents and teachers. We recognized a need for a forum that provides support and education, as well as providing a space to gather together in community. Upon recognizing this need, we created the It Takes A Village Conference to bring together accomplished instructors, relevant life, school, and parenting topics, and a truly unique learning environment. This Conference will help parents and educators by providing tools, resources, and guidance for their journey through the various stages of parenting and teaching children of all ages.
