Sept. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- John J. Neely first set foot inside a pressroom in 1980.
"I fell in love with printing immediately. The loud noise, the smell of the paper and ink. I knew I I had to be a part of it from first moment. I immediately applied to the front office to become a pressman's helper. I worked hard and learned the ins and outs of the newspaper printing business. I can remember the first law of being a pressman's helper. If the press ain't running a job then you have a rag and cleaner in your hand and polish, polish, polish. Mr. Ross Redmond taught me that. For about one year I remained as a paper bundle stacker. Called a flyer. I used to catch the paper as it came off the press. I moved up quickly to the stripping department where I excelled in pre press. Our camera was 20 feet long. Awesome. After about one year I was promoted to the Job Shop. All the business printing was done in that department. I mastered the pre press and pressroom quickly and moved to a larger printer in Morristown, New Jersey. There I managed the pre press department until 2008 when layoffs came to our company.
I have formed Text Art Print and put together the cream of the crop in printing professionals to service the needs of companies and individuals. We specialize in Typesetting in Quark Xpress and InDesign. Perfect for manuals and newsletters. Illustrator and Photoshop for artwork and illustration and use the finest equipment available.
