Food ERP Software Provider Deacom Joins American Meat Institute

Deacom, Inc., producer of the DEACOM Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning Software System for mid-to-large sized food processors, today announces its membership with the American Meat Institute (AMI).

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Sep 15, 2009 – WAYNE, PA -- Deacom, Inc., producer of the DEACOM Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning Software System for mid-to-large sized food processors, today announces its membership with the American Meat Institute (AMI), the country's oldest and largest meat and poultry trade association.

The AMI represents companies that process 95 percent of the red meat and 70 percent of the turkey in the U.S. and their suppliers throughout America, providing industry advocacy, legislative and regulatory expertise, and networking and educational opportunities. As a supplier member and provider of food ERP software for the meat processing industry, Deacom seeks to work with the AMI to help increase the efficiency, profitability, and safety of meat and poultry companies.

DEACOM gives meat processors the ability to manage their purchasing, inventory, lot control, recipes, production, sales, labeling and regulatory reporting, and accounting from one system. This integration allows meat processors to eliminate the multiple systems and manual processes that can slow their operations or lead to problems with data integrity and process control.

DEACOM promotes data integrity and process control, for example, by allowing meat manufacturers to label raw materials with bar coded lot numbers upon receipt, and then track those items throughout production and shipment using handheld scanners. This creates an accurate and complete lot history that can be viewed in real time within DEACOM for a fast response to a recall or customer inquiry.

"We are pleased to welcome Deacom into the AMI membership. Given the role that technology increasingly plays in the meat and poultry industry, we are pleased to have their expertise in our ranks," says Janet Riley, senior vice president of public affairs and member services for AMI.
