German Scene
Based in Tampa, Florida, Thompson has been a mainstay in the commercial marketing industry in Tampa Bay for the past 16 years. His national accounts have taken him to most states in the United States. However, this client not only expanded Thompson Studios abroad, but also incorporated Thompson’s other talents into the trip. “I wanted to create as much value as I could,” said Thompson.
The VP of Corporate Communications and Marketing was elated after learning of Thompson’s fluency in the German language (Thompson was a German linguist in the United States Air Force for nine years prior to beginning his photography career), having already encountered language barriers in an attempt to find a German photographer. “It was going to be so expensive and nearly impossible to secure a photographer in Germany,” commented the Marketing VP. One hundred sales professionals on one cruise ship for five days with no one to translate in German and not enough to do on board, our client seized the opportunity and added entertainment and translation to Thompson’s proposal.
“We can’t wait to have Bob back next year!” The President of the company had this to say of Thompson: “What Thompson Studios provided was of tremendous value. Not only did he take absolutely awesome photos of our entire trip, our awards banquet, day excursions and everything else that happened during our cruise, he’s also a great singer and guitar player with a great repertoire. Our group really enjoyed what he brought to our trip.”
With camera in hand, Thompson photo-journaled the five day event. “We loved the photography and watching the slideshow of the entire trip the last night of the cruise really connected everyone,” said the President.
