For the first time, the luxury brands showcase Living In Style International takes place in Singapore. It joins the glamorous line-up of events scheduled to take place during the thrilling F1 season this September. Presented by The Annix Group, the week-long activities at the event on Keppel Bay from the 22nd to the 27th will see black-tie gala fundraisers, super cars, luxury yachts, exciting fashion shows, luxury getaways to opulent waterfront villas, and the ultimate spa experience.
One of the highlights of this inaugural luxury brands showcase is Style Ultime – A Celebration of Style, a series of 15 haute couture fashion shows by six renowned designers. Among the headliners are Jean-Paul Gaultier, the man behind Madonna's transformation, famed designer Rohit Bal, profiled by Time Magazine as India's “Master of Fabric and Fantasy”, and, making its debut on the runway, Glitterateen, the chic easy to wear collection for young trendy teen fashionistas – from casual cool and sporty luxe to glam rock.
To complement the conference on sustainability is a special show on eco fashion that is fast becoming part of the growing design philosophy and trend of sustainability as we look at ways to help our environment by bringing awareness to the cause.
No showcase of style can be complete without jewellery. An outstanding example are the avant-garde collections of Bibi van der Velden, which have had pride of place at exhibitions at the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden and at Sotheby’s in Amsterdam. Using her knowledge as a sculptor to mould her designs into wearable works of art, the result is original pieces that blur the lines between jewellery and art.
And if you’re thinking of stepping out in style, then look no further than the Pagani Zonda. Made by hand, the Zonda is the philosophical summation of the ideas of Juan Manuel Fangio and Horacio Pagani who worked on simple, yet practical concepts. At Living in Style, this supercar will ride along the classic Wiesmann GT MF4.
“Style, like language, is not a thing but a practice – an individual’s way of life,” says Amit Alok, CEO of The Annix Group. The essence of style is “about personalization and customization that recognize the unique style personality in each and every individual”.
