PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 15, 2009 -
London,UK, David Falash lures the reader to the final page at breakneck speed: Mick Gallagher, a 15 year old Irish orphan, dreams of becoming a fighter pilot. On a round-about route he fulfils his wish by joining the German Red Baron’s ‘flying circus’.

Much has been written about WWI, but never quite from this angle. This book is different – it’s unique and brilliant, and the reader will be left wanting for more. It’s the year 1917, and in the skies above war-torn Europe, they fly planes made of wood an canvas with a suicidal courage that only the very young ever have; and a 15 year-old Irish lad named Mick Gallagher is destined to become the ‘Emerald Ace’.

Carrying a deep hatred of the British since losing his father in the 1916 Easter Rising, Mick has dedicated his life to a free and independent Ireland. After rescuing a fallen German fighter pilot and nursing him back to health, a series of incredible events will bring Mick into clandestine service with the Red Baron’s famous squadron. With peril all around, Mick will learn that even love can be dangerous.

David Falash’s mother introduced him at the tender age of 7 to the autobiography of famous fighter Ace Baron Manfred von Richthofen (a.k.a. The Red Baron). David never looked back. History would become his life-long passion. He has a vast library of books and a special interest in philosophy and politics. Born in Weiser, Idaho, USA, David Falash has been a secondary school teacher for 18 years, holding degrees in Marketing and Education from Boise State University.

Quote from ‘Emerald Ace’:
" [...] I could see panic in the pilot’s face as he turned to look behind, blinded by the sun. He knew he was doomed. The first burst cut across his fuselage right to the engine. Smoke exploded out, followed by a lick of flame that quickly consumed the nose of the plane. There was no need for another burst from the Spandaus, but I couldn’t resist. My guns blazed again " until suddenly they made the strangest sound, like that of shattering glass."
From a reader: "[...] did intrigue me enough to want to read the second book, even though I know nothing of European fighter jet teams."

David Falash follows "Emerald Ace" with "Richthofen’s Knight" due to be published in2010. Details at authors website http://davidfalash.com
