Dr. Darcie Sims to appear on the premier of the CBS affiliated Open to Hope National Show Radio Show

Sims Ph.D, is a bereaved parent and child, and a grief management specialist.  Darcie’s sense of humor and clarity have made her a much sought after speaker.  She is the author of a number of books and has recently co-authored The Crying Handbook with Dr. Robert Baugher.  Darcie is a contributing author for the Open to Hope Foundation and the president of GRIEF, Inc. a grief consulting business.  She is also the Director of Training and Certification for TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors of Military Loss).

Dr. Darcie Sims, author of, “The Crying Handbook,” will join Drs. Gloria & Heidi Horsley to talk about Grief, Hope and Healing on their new nationally syndicated talk radio program “The Open To Hope Show”  Sept. 14th, 2009 at 11 am Pacific/2 pm Eastern time.

Darcie has used her own personal struggle with the death of her son to positively impact thousands of people who have been through similar experiences.  Despite the great adversity Darcie endured in her life, she has gone onto find hope, wonder, and joy once again said Dr. Heidi Horsley, Executive Director of the Open to Hope Foundation, http://www.opentohope.com and Co-Host of The Open To Hope Show.

She holds graduate degrees from the University of San Francisco, Columbia University, and Loyola University.

Dr. Gloria C. Horsley, PHD, MFT, CNS, is a bereaved parent, and has worked in the field of family therapy for over twenty years. Dr. Gloria is Founder and President of the Open to Hope Foundation.  She serves The Compassionate Friends in a number of roles, including as a Board Director and frequently serves as a media spokesperson in her dual role as a bereaved parent and professional. She is co-author of “Teen Grief Relief” and “Real Men Do Cry.” She holds graduate degrees from the University of Rochester, Syracuse, Greenwich and Holos Universities.
