Scrapbooks & Stuff joins nationwide Scrap Pink campaign and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®.

Breast cancer fundraising has a new ally as local scrapbooking store Scrapbooks & Stuff joins two worthwhile fundraising events for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Sep 14, 2009 – Local scrapbooking enthusiasts will come together for the third annual Scrap Pink weekend during September 25–26, 2009.  Scrap Pink is a fundraising event created by Scrapbooks etc.® to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Scrap Pink has already donated over $200,000 to breast cancer research.  Scrapbooks & Stuff, a scrapbooking shop located in Miami, FL at 8811 SW 132nd Street, Miami, FL 33186 will be hosting a 24 Hour Crop.

On Scrap Pink weekend, retailers will invite consumers to participate in an exciting in- store crop, where scrapbookers will come together to make a difference. Consumers will pay to attend the crop, and $10 of this fee will be donated to support Komen’s mission to find a cure for breast cancer through research, education, screening, and treatment.

To ensure adequate space and supplies for participants, Vanessa Vasquez, co-owner, recommends that Scrapbookers call in advance of Scrap Pink weekend, although walk-ins are welcome, too. To sign up for Scrap Pink or for more details about the local event, call (305) 253-0030, or visit the store. Scrap Pink information is also available at scrappink.com.

Additionally, Scrapbooks & Stuff has created a team to participate in the local Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® event being held in Bayfront Park, downtown Miami, on October 17, 2009.  This event, now in its 14th year, raises funds which are used locally and nationally to support breast cancer programs and the Komen Award and Research Grant Program, one of the country’s most innovative & responsive breast cancer grant programs in existence today.

To sponsor or join the Scrapbooks & Stuff team, please visit their team website at: http://rfcmfl.convio.net/site/TRC/Race/General?pg=pedito ...

Al-Marie Campana and Vanessa Vasquez, owners of Scrapbooks & Stuff, see Scrap Pink and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® events as much more than just another fundraiser. “We look forward to doing our part to support our customers, their families, and our community by supporting a cause so close to many women’s hearts,” Vanessa Vasquez says.
