A man, Captain Charles Plumb, was a combat pilot that flu 74 successful missions over Vietnam and then was shot down. With luck his parachute opened and he fell safely, but was captured and tortured. He spent over two thousand days in a box.
He managed to survive all that torture and was able to return to America. He received many awards, one of them being two Purple Hearts. He wanted to give back by sharing his experience, so he spoke at many group conferences. He used how he dealt with what had happened to him and compared it to the many challenges all of us experience every day in life.
One day Charles Plumb and his wife were sitting at a restaurant. A man came over and said, “Hey your Plumb you flew jet fighters in Vietnam and were shot down!” Plumb was so shocked, he asked the man, “How did you know that?” The man replied, “I packed your parachute, glad to see it worked!”
That night Charles Plumb thought long and hard if he remembered maybe even saying Good Morning to this guy back in Vietnam, or even thanked him then for taking his job so serious when packing his parachute.
After reading this story, Julianne Rowat, CEO of Ultimate Wealth From Home, started thinking of all the people that came across her path and whether she thanked them or not. Life really is short and you never know when something might happen to you. Don’t wait until it’s to late to say Thank You to someone. So from now on when asked the question, “Who have you thanked today?” Make sure your comment is: “Everyone who has crossed my path! Even everyone who is reading this! “Thank You!”
