Nine months ago, Marsha Spain Fuller combined her 30-year love of photography with rhyming by creating her first patriotic greeting card. On September 16, 2009, at 7:15 am EST, Fuller will be the guest on Coastal Daybreak hosted by Ben Ball. Marsha says, “Designing the cards is a creative outlet allowing me to combine my love of photography and writing. The cards are written from my experiences as a Marine wife and written thinking about what it’s like to be a mom without my children at home”.
Marsha was born to create. Her first patriotic card was born when a church friend expressed sentiments about her son’s recent deployment. The cards feature photos from her local archive, as well as local images from her neighborhood and Onslow Beach. Her “Grandpug”
Squeak is featured on several of the cards. Squeak often quotes what is in the hearts and minds of many men and women who have a loved one overseas.
Marsha Spain Fuller is a member of the Richlands Chamber of Commerce and the Jacksonville-
Onslow Chamber of Commerce. The cards are her way of saying thank you to our military men and women. Fuller donates 10 cents of every card sold (via retailer or sponsor) to Hope For The Warriors aboard Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
