MODSIM World is a uniquely international and interdisciplinary conference and expo; it is the only conference of its kind in the United States exclusively devoted to the application of modeling and simulation (MODSIM) for decision-making across multiple disciplines – Defense & Homeland Security, Education & Training, Engineering & Science, Health & Medicine, Modeling Human Behaviors & Interactions, Serious Games, and Transportation & Logistics. More than 700 attendees are expected and 30+ exhibitors will showcase and demonstrate their products and technologies in the exhibit hall.
The 2009 conference and expo joins theory and practice; academia, government, and industry; and provides for the exchange of MODSIM knowledge, research, and technology across seven disciplines. Each track provides a unique perspective on MODSIM tools and practices in emerging and innovative operating environments. Keynote speakers for 2009 include NASA Astronaut, Dr. Charles Camarda; international simulations expert, Dr. Paul Roman; the Director of Technology for USC's Institute for Creative Technologies, Dr. William Swartout; and Founder and CEO of BreakAway, Ltd., Mr. Doug Whatley.
In addition to the excellent technical program and keynote speakers, this year’s series of FREE pre-conference workshops (tutorials) (Tuesday, October 13, 2009) provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development. The K-12 Student Outreach Program allows educators and students to interact with practitioners to learn about careers in MODSIM (broadly defined to include modeling, simulation, games for learning, data visualization, systems thinking/dynamics, and virtual worlds).
MODSIM World 2009 Conference and Expo is organized under the auspices of CP-3, a consortium of private and public organizations. More information about MODSIM World 2009 is available from the website http://www.modsimworld2009.com.
