LIC,NY, 9/9/09:Empire Ventilation Equipment Company announced today that it has compiled International Building Codes/Library containing information on venting closed spaces in building for 24 on a state-by-state basis. According to Brian Taylor, Vice President of The Long Island City, New York-based ventilator manufacturer, the company will continue to add to the library throughout the next year.
In explaining why the company set out to compile a building code library, Taylor said, “Empire frequently received questions regarding venting both open and closed spaces within buildings because the information was difficult to find. Not only were homeowners having problems locating the information, many professional builders were too. In the last few years it became more and more obvious to us that this type of resource was needed, so we built it for them.” Upon finishing his explanation, however, he cautioned users of the library to not to rely solely on Empire’s library, but to also contact their state or municipality to obtain specific technical or legal ventilating requirements that may apply in there area.
