The Sound of Our Chains

Today the souls from African slaves rejoice! The shackles bound tightly around their hands and feet rattle from the grave. Their clanging chains bang together in a rhythmic cadence to echo beautiful music. Their voices cry out saying our living and dying was not in vain. One of our sons and his beautiful queen now reigns to give hope to the hopeless, inspiration to the uninspired, and readies a nation to be reborn into its greatness.

Today the souls of African slaves unite with the spirits of many nations. Change is a coming, change is required, and “Yes We Can” change. The journey will not be easy, but the steps are divinely ordered. So, let us begin a new work.

Like the dreams of men and women who once walked this earth, our souls wonder amongst you to share this moment in time. The eyes of Martin, Tubman, Parks, and Lincoln unite with us. We hear the dream fulfilled sermon preached from the heavenly pulpit, see our train conductor dance on the tracks of the underground railroad, view an empty seat left on the bus since we are now at the wheel, and a man now pens a new letter describing their purpose for living and dying.

Today the twelve tribes, which formed our nations, have an opportunity to regain the humanity of man by acts of kindness and love. It is now time to pay it forward for our children, honor our elders, and continue to earn respect for what is now in our humble hands to watch over.

Today the souls of African slaves remember their voyage on the Old Ship of Zion and shout. Get on board! Get on board!  The sweat of your ancestors built the White House, with the hope that someday one of its children or their children’s children would walk the halls, sleep in comfort, and enjoy its majestic history and workmanship.  

President Barack Hussein Obama, our message to you is to listen to the sounds of our clanging chains, walk the halls proudly of the house we built for you.  This house will never see foreclosure. The mortgage debt duly paid by the stripes on our back and the sweat of our brows many years ago.

Show the world that a man born of a woman, seeded by a man from Kenya, and loved by multi-ethnic relatives has the blood of Kings. Unite the world through your experience and our message. Make way for others to add to this message to define this moment in time forever.

We now know we did not live or die in vain. Our purpose lives on in you and the lives you will touch with your message of “Change” and “Hope”. Hear our chains clang when you grow weary. Our souls rejoice and our purpose now set before the world to see. It has been worthwhile. This is our slave’s message. May you forever remember us, honor us, and hear the sweet music of our chains now released from bondage.
