Zang Toi Delivers Decadent Sophistication during New York Fashion Week

Sept. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- 20 years after the debut of his first collection and the opening of his own atelier, Zang Toi continues to stun fashion’s elite with his meticulous talent for fine details and the perpetuation of American couture.   Fashion insiders watched in awe as  Zang Toi debuted his Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

As a designer, Toi is revered for his talents in blending rich textiles with his keen eye for matching non-traditional colors. His anniversary collection was no exception. Toi presented 32 looks inspired by the eccentric beauty, romance, and vigor of Spain- more specifically, the toreadors of Madrid’s storied past. Toi’s vision of Spring evokes a sense of fantasy laced with tradition.

Designs featured signature Zang Toi shades such as chartreuse, burgundy, pastel pink, and bright azure blue, topped off with stunning black crystal detailing.  Mixing rich velvet with beaded shoulder appellates, hemline- tassels, choker necklaces and shoe adornments, the collection radiated the confidence and buoyancy of Spanish culture, the spirit of the matador, and a magnetic air of subtle arrogance.

The 20th Anniversary of Zang Toi comes with great anticipation and buzz of what’s to come. Drawing a crowd of both long-time loyalists such as Ivana Trump, and more recent fans like Ms. Universe Stefania Fernandez, admirers and fashion elite who have followed Toi since his 1989 debut continue to longingly ponder what he will do next.  If the standing ovation from his alluring audience was any indication, Toi’s true talent, sincerity and adoration for beautiful craftsmanship will surely stand the test of time.
