What began in 2008 as the dream of a handful of organizers from the Writers’ Circle of Durham Region became a full-fledged writers’ organization in 2009.
The Ontario Writers’ Conference has blossomed from its inaugural event into a premier arts writing/author organization.
Building on the success of OWC 2008, our mandate is to conduct educational, challenging and interactive workshops, panels, roundtables, etc. led by writers, arts-related facilitators and industry professionals.
We are proud to present our next main attraction: Ontario Writers’ Conference 2010, on May 1, 2010. We are most fortunate to have as our honorary patron the acclaimed award-winning author Wayson Choy.

The Ontario Writers' Conference is proud to present the Festival of Authors as the capper to a full day of writing-related activities for both local and visiting writers. Networking opportunities and superb food will be rounded out by this public event featuring readings by Canadian authors. A myriad of vendors will offer books and other items in our marketplace.
All this in a café-style atmosphere with tantalizing refreshments. Come join the celebration!
As with our inaugural Ontario Writers’ Conference in 2008, for our upcoming conference, we strive to give writers a full, fun-packed day of workshops, readings and mingling, topped with delectable food. We’re offering an insightful Saturday at the fabulous Deer Creek Golf and Banquet Facility, where logistics will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the location. Speakers will inform. Workshops will instruct using interactive, hands-on communication. The Festival of Author Readings and Marketplace will cap off the event in true celebratory style.
