HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – SecuraTrac, a dynamic provider of personal location services focused on protecting children and securing the peace of mind of their parents, today announced the use of its SecuraPAL (Personal Automated Locator) in the second marathon in 5 months.

The Dingle marathon, taking place on the 12th of September, will be the first marathon in Europe to use a SecuraPAL tracking device. Many of the participants in the Dingle Marathon will run on behalf of a charity of their choice or one of charities currently tied to the event, which include Barnardos, Mercy Hospital Foundation, Croí, Enable Ireland Kerry, and Hope Guatemala. The Dingle Marathon has chosen Johnny Donnelly, former drummer of the Saw Doctors, as the first person in Europe to wear the PAL. People from around the world will be tracking Johnny in real-time as he makes his way through Dingle wearing the 2.5 ounce PAL - www.securatrac.com/
SecuraPAL’s have been sold commercially in the United States since July and in addition to tracking marathon runners, PAL’s do a great job of keep an eye on children at amusement parks. They also help pet owners keep track of their pets. Ken Dunne, the organizer of the Dingle marathon, said he was “delighted to have been approached to be the first marathon in Europe” to demonstrate the SecuraTrac product. SecuraTrac expects to launch the product commercially in Europe in October.
