Sept. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- It's the END OF SUMMER SALE for the controversial new documentary film DVD release "GOLD DIGGIN’:  For Love of Money".  ON SALE TODAY FOR THE LOW PRICE OF $12.99 FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY, this edgy and unique documentary film (shot in hi def) takes us inside the lives and minds of women and men who use their charms for financial gain and those who woo them.  Told from a non-cliche, original point of view by director Pamela J. Richardson, the film shows how the gold digging mentality is found in all walks of life and every social class.  It's not just the young bombshell with the rich older man, nor the gigolo, but also the common woman or man.  And, in a tough economy, anyone with an income could be a target.

In "GOLD DIGGIN':  For Love of Money", we meet real-life gold diggers who expose how they operate and why they make the choices they make.  We interview Naomi Anderson, niece of notorious polygamist cult leader Warren Jeffs, whose remote Texas commune was raided by law enforcement in April 2008 and 400 children were removed.  Naomi reveals all from her nudist resort home – her escape from the cult at 13 and how money became her motivation.  There’s Carla, whose husband knew her a month before transferring all his money into her account.  Murphy, straight off skidrow, found the price of being a kept man too high to pay.  Los Angeles based comedian Khalil Mack's humor adds a special touch of comic relief throughout the film, and Todd Bridges (“Everybody Hates Chris”) and Miguel A. Nunez, Jr. (“Juwanna Man”) offer celebrity insights.

"GOLD DIGGIN':  For Love of Money" is the second documentary film directed, written and produced by Pamela J. Richardson, a USC Film/TV grad, whose other work includes producer and/or director of music videos, commercials and PSAs and work as an Associate Producer on KNBC-TV shows, as well as in film and TV development.  Richardson's other documentary film "The Wonder Kids" (which she produced, directed and wrote w/Jim Petersen) features Dick Van Dyke, Savion Glover and Debbie Allen, amongst others.  The film won best documentary in the New York Int'l Indie Film Fest (L.A. Version) in July 2008.  Richardson also won an AFI screenwriting award in 1991 and is currently developing a feature film.

Richardson's producing partners are Clyde R. Jones and Will Shipp.  Jones is best known as an actor in films like "Coming to America", "The Siege of Firebase Gloria" and "The Fantasia Barrino Story", to name a few.  He has an extensive background as a director and actor in gospel plays across the country and is currently in pre-production on his next film "The Soul Glow Man".

Serving not only as a producer but also as Director of Photography, Will Shipp's beautiful handicraft is clearly on display in “GOLD DIGGIN':  For Love of Money".  He has a long history as a camera operator, sound and technical engineer in over one hundred network and cable television shows and video productions, including the Emmy Award winning "The Amazing Race", "Joes v. Pros", "Punk'd", and many more.

"GOLD DIGGIN':  For Love of Money" shows how today's moral and political climate perpetuates gold digging, because money (or the lack thereof) is front and center on the minds of the masses today.  People who socked retirement money away in 401ks and Roth IRAs are suddenly riding the tidal wave of the stock market watching life savings dwindle.  It's a time in which, when it comes to romance, pocketbook often overrules personality.  Relationships are more about the bottom line when one’s survival is at stake, and the most basic human relationships, like friendship and even family, can have a price.  So now, “wanna play, gotta pay” is the mantra of many.
