Laverstoke Park appoints Screen Pages to take forward its Magento e-commerce website

Laverstoke Park, the biodynamic and organic produce business, has appointed to Screen Pages to host, extend and support its online store, which runs on the Magento e-commerce platform.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 11, 2009 -
Laverstoke Park was founded by Formula 1 champion Jody Scheckter as an organic/biodynamic farm in Hampshire to produce the best-tasting, healthiest food for himself and his family. Today, the farm handles everything from buffalo to geese, wild boar to chickens, as well as producing organic ale and buffalo mozzarella ice cream and more. Its products are stocked by Waitrose, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Harrods. Restaurants using its products include those of Heston Blumentahl, Raymond Blanc, the Roast Cinnamon Club and the Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

Laverstoke Park has operated a Magento e-commerce website since 2008 and this appointment will combine Screen Pages’ online retail expertise with Magento’s industry-leading e-commerce platform to help Laverstoke Park take advantage of the online opportunity. The website can be visited at  http://www.laverstokepark.co.uk

Screen Pages will be providing usability, design, technical and analytics advice in the effective usage of Magento, as well as providing ongoing managed hosting and support. The site was migrated to Screen Pages’ servers in two days.

Jody Scheckter of Laverstoke Park said: “We moved our website to Screen Pages because of its experience with leading niche online retailers and because it had the support and service organization to help us move forward.”

Sarah Willcocks, director of Screen Pages, said: “The beauty of Magento is that retailers need no longer locked in to expensive, proprietary systems and they can easily get the service levels and advice they aspire to without changing platforms. There are lots of small retailers out there who have adopted Magento, but don’t have access to best practice and e-commerce insight. Screen Pages can help them move forward with tiny switching costs.”
